The Hair of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the physical appearance of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and how his hair came halfway down his ears.

It was narrated that Anas said: "The hair of the Messenger of Allah SAW came halfway down his ears".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates the physical appearance of the beloved Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Anas that the hair of the Messenger ﷺ came halfway down his ears. This hadith serves as a reminder to us to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and emulate him in all aspects including our physical appearances. We should strive to maintain a neat and clean look as it is pleasing to Allah SWT and also reflects positively on ourselves as Muslims. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should not be too concerned with our outward appearances but rather focus on developing good character traits such as kindness, humility, patience etc., which are more important in Islam than one’s outward looks.
