Shaving the Head - A Prophetic Guidance

SUMMARY: The Prophet saw a boy with part of his head shaved and part left, and he forbade it, saying to either shave all of it or leave all of it.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that : The Prophet SAW saw a boy, part of whose head had been shaven and part had been left. He forbade that and said: "Shave all of it, or leave all of it".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ رَأَى صَبِيًّا حَلَقَ بَعْضَ رَأْسِهِ وَتَرَكَ بَعْضَ فَنَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ احْلِقُوهُ كُلَّهُ أَوِ اتْرُكُوهُ كُلَّهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the guidance given by the Prophet Muhammad regarding shaving one's head. It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet saw a boy with part of his head shaved and part left, and he forbade it, saying to either shave all of it or leave all of it. This hadith teaches us that we should not do something halfway; if we are going to do something then we should do it completely. We can also learn from this hadith that when making decisions in life, we should always seek guidance from Allah through His Messenger Muhammad ﷺ as He knows what is best for us. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about moderation in our actions; neither too much nor too little but just enough according to Islamic teachings.
