EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the consequences of lying and stealing. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar that there was a Makhzumi woman who used to borrow things from her neighbors, claiming they were needed by someone else. When asked if she had taken them, she would deny it. As a result of this deceitful behavior, the Messenger of Allah ordered that her hand be cut off as punishment for theft. This serves as an example to us all that we should not lie or steal as it will have serious consequences in this life and in the hereafter. We should strive to always tell the truth and stay away from any kind of dishonesty or wrongdoing.
