Sunan an-Nasai 4824 (Book 45, Hadith 119) #19357
Paying Diyah for Unborn Child

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad ruled that a woman who killed her co-wife should pay a Diyah (blood money) and give a slave as Diyah for the unborn child in her womb.

It was narrated that Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah said: "A woman of Banu Lihyan struck her co-wife with a tent pole and killed her, and the slain woman was pregnant. The Messenger of Allah ruled that the Diyah was to be paid by the'Asbah of the killer, and that a slave should be given (as Diyah) for the child in her womb".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect life, Be fair in dealing with cases like this .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the ruling of Prophet Muhammad regarding the payment of diyah, or blood money, when someone kills another person. In this case, it was a woman from Banu Lihyan who killed her co-wife with a tent pole. The Prophet ruled that the killer must pay diyah to the family of the slain woman and also give a slave as diyah for the unborn child in her womb. This ruling shows us how important it is to protect life and how seriously we should take any act of killing another person, even if they are not yet born. It also teaches us that we must be fair when dealing with cases like this and make sure justice is served by making sure those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
