Accept practices that were already established before Islam came into existence unless they are against Islamic teachings or values such as justice and fairness for all people regardless of their religion or background .

This hadith speaks about an incident that occurred during the time when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was alive. It tells us that there was a practice called Qasamah which existed during pre-Islamic times known as Jahiliyyh. In this incident, some people from Ansar claimed that Jews from Khaibar had killed someone and so Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ruled accordingly based on this practice. Ma'mar contradicted them but it is narrated in Sahih Bukhari so it is accepted as true by Muslims all over the world.
