Sharing and Partnership in Battle of Badr

SUMMARY: Three companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered into a partnership to share whatever was allotted to them in the Battle of Badr, but only one of them got something.

It was narratd that 'Abdullah said: "Sa'd, 'Ammar and I entered into a partnership on the Day of Badr, (agreeing to share) whatever was allotted to us'.Ammar and I did not get anything. But sa'd got two prisoners".
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ اشْتَرَكْتُ أَنَا وَعَمَّارٌ، وَسَعْدٌ، يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَجَاءَ سَعْدٌ بِأَسِيرَيْنِ وَلَمْ أَجِئْ أَنَا وَعَمَّارٌ بِشَىْءٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about three companions of Prophet Muhammad, namely Sa'd, 'Ammar and Abdullah who entered into a partnership on the Day of Badr. They agreed to share whatever was allotted to them from the battle. However, only Sa'd got two prisoners while 'Ammar and Abdullah did not get anything. This hadith teaches us about sharing and partnership which are important values that should be practiced by Muslims even during times of war or conflict. It also shows us that we should be content with what we have been given by Allah SWT as it is He who decides our fate in this world and hereafter.
