Sunan an-Nasai 4589 (Book 44, Hadith 141) #19122
Accepting Different Forms of Payment

SUMMARY: It is permissible to accept a different form of payment than what was initially agreed upon, as long as the transaction is completed on the same day.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "I came to the Prophet and said: 'Wait, I want to ask you something. I sell camels in Al-Baqi with a price set in Dinars but I accept Dirhams instead'. He said: 'There is nothing wrong with it if you take the price on that day, still unfinished business between you both (buyer and seller)"'

QUICK LESSONS:
Agreeing to complete a transaction on the same day
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about transactions and agreements between two parties. It teaches us that it is permissible to accept a different form of payment than what was initially agreed upon, as long as the transaction is completed on the same day. This means that if someone agrees to buy something for a certain amount of money, but then pays with another type of currency instead, it would still be acceptable so long as both parties agree and complete the transaction on that same day. This hadith also teaches us about fairness in business dealings and encourages people to be honest in their transactions with others.
