Fasting on the Day of 'Arafat

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was questioned about whether he was fasting on the day of 'Arafat or not, so Maimuna sent milk to him while he was standing at 'Arafat and he drank it.

Narrated Maimuna: The people doubted whether the Prophet was fasting on the day of 'Arafat or not, so I sent milk while he was standing at 'Arafat, he drank it and the people were looking at him.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ـ أَوْ قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ ـ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ النَّاسَ، شَكُّوا فِي صِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ بِحِلاَبٍ وَهْوَ وَاقِفٌ فِي الْمَوْقِفِ، فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ، وَالنَّاسُ يَنْظُرُونَ‏.‏

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ) fasting on the day of 'Arafat. People were uncertain if he was fasting or not so Maimuna sent milk to him while he was standing at 'Arafat and he drank it. This hadith teaches us that we should always be sure that we are following in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). We should strive to emulate his example in all aspects of our lives. It also teaches us that even when faced with doubt or uncertainty, we should remain steadfast in our faith and trust in Allah's plan for us.
