Dont Disfigure Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) denounced the act of shooting arrows at a ram and advised against disfiguring animals.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Ja'far said: "The Messenger of Allah passed by some people who were shooting arrows at a ram. He denounced that and said: 'Do not disfigure animals (by using them as targets)". (Sahih )
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُنْبُورٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْهَادِ - عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَى أُنَاسٍ وَهُمْ يَرْمُونَ كَبْشًا بِالنَّبْلِ فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ تَمْثُلُوا بِالْبَهَائِمِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was passing by some people who were shooting arrows at a ram. He saw this and immediately denounced it, saying "Do not disfigure animals". This hadith teaches us that we should be kind to animals and not use them for our own entertainment or pleasure. We should treat them with respect and kindness, as Allah has created them for us to take care of. We should also remember that Allah is watching over us all the time, so we must always strive to do what is right in His eyes. This hadith also reminds us that we are responsible for taking care of all creatures on earth, including animals, as they are part of Allah's creation.
