Sacrifice in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to sacrifice two animals and recite the name of Allah while doing so.

Anas bin Malik said: "The Messenger of Allah used to sacrifice two pronounce the name of Allah and say: 'Allah Akabar,' and I saw him slaughtering them with his own hand, and placing his foot on their sides "(Sahih )
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَاصِحٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ وَكَانَ يُسَمِّي وَيُكَبِّرُ وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَذْبَحُهُمَا بِيَدِهِ وَاضِعًا رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of sacrifice in Islam. It is narrated by Anas bin Malik that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to sacrifice two animals and recite the name of Allah while doing so. This act was done with his own hands, showing us how important it is for us to be involved in our acts of worship. Sacrifice is a way for Muslims to show their devotion and love for Allah, as well as their willingness to give up something precious for Him. It also teaches us humility, as we are reminded that all things come from Allah and we should be grateful for His blessings.
