Hunting Game and Eating It

SUMMARY: It is permissible to eat game that has been hunted and left for three days, unless it has gone bad.

It was narrated from Abu Tha'labah from the Prophet that: the one who catches up with the game (he shot) after three days may eat from it, unless it has turned rotten.
أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْخَلاَّلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ صَالِحٍ - عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ فِي الَّذِي يُدْرِكُ صَيْدَهُ بَعْدَ ثَلاَثٍ فَلْيَأْكُلْهُ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُنْتِنَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the permissibility of eating game that has been hunted and left for three days. The Prophet Muhammad taught that it is permissible to eat such game, unless it has gone bad or rotten. This hadith teaches us about hunting animals in a responsible manner, as well as being mindful of food safety. We should be aware of how long we leave our food out before consuming it, so as not to get sick or consume something that may have gone bad. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us about being mindful of animal welfare by not leaving them out in the open for too long after they have been hunted.
