Avoiding the Use of Dead Animal Products

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised against using the skins and sinews of dead animals.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Ukaim said: "The letter of the Messenger of Allah was read to us when I was a young boy: 'Do not make use of the skins and sinew of dead animals"'.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُكَيْمٍ، قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا غُلاَمٌ شَابٌّ ‏ "‏ أَنْ لاَ تَنْتَفِعُوا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ بِإِهَابٍ وَلاَ عَصَبٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a letter that was read to a young boy named Abdullah bin Ukaim from the Prophet Muhammad. In this letter, the Prophet advised against using any products made from dead animals such as their skins or sinews. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to respect all living creatures, even after they have passed away. We should not use any parts of an animal’s body for our own benefit if it has died naturally or been slaughtered for food.
