EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, teaches us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) abolished the concepts of fara’ and ‘atirah. Fara’ is an Arabic term which refers to a type of tax imposed on non-Muslims living in Muslim countries. ‘Atirah is another Arabic term which refers to a type of tax imposed on Muslims living in non-Muslim countries. By abolishing these two taxes, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed us that all people should be treated equally regardless of their religion or nationality. He also taught us that we should not impose unfair taxes on anyone and instead treat everyone with respect and kindness.
