This hadith emphasizes the importance of obedience to Allah and His Messenger, avoiding tribalism, and staying united as a community. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Prophet Muhammad said that anyone who parts from obedience to Allah or splits away from the Jama'ah will have died a death of Jahiliyyah. Jahiliyyah is an Arabic term for pre-Islamic ignorance or barbarity. The Prophet also warned against rebelling against his Ummah by killing both good and evil people alike without paying attention to those under covenant with him. He further warned against fighting for unclear causes while advocating tribalism or getting angry for its sake because it would lead to death in Jahiliyyah. Therefore, this hadith teaches us about the dangers of disobeying Allah's commands, splitting away from unity within our communities, engaging in tribalistic behavior, and fighting for unclear causes.
