Changing Religions is Forbidden

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) commanded that anyone who changes their religion should be killed.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW said: 'Whoever changes his religion, kill him'."
أَخْبَرَنِي هِلاَلُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ بَدَّلَ دِينَهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُ

According to the hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas, the Prophet Muhammad commanded that anyone who changes their religion should be killed. It also shows us how important it is to follow the teachings of Islam and not stray away from them.
