This hadith discusses the punishment for apostates, or those who leave their religion after accepting it. According to this hadith, 'Ali burned them with fire while Ibn 'Abbas said that he would have killed them instead. This is because the Messenger of Allah said that no one should be punished with the punishment of Allah, meaning that humans should not punish someone in a way that only God can do.
