Sunan an-Nasai 3837 (Book 35, Hadith 77) #18452
No Vow for Disobedience

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that there is no need to make a vow for an act of disobedience, and the expiation for such a vow is the same as that of an oath.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no vow to commit an act of disobedience, and its expiation is the expiation for an oath'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Do not make any vows or promises to do something wrong . Focus on doing good deeds . Seek forgiveness by performing expiations . Follow teachings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad's hadith teaches us that we should not make any vows or promises to do something wrong or bad. This includes things like lying, cheating, stealing, and hurting others. Instead of making a vow to do something wrong, we should focus on doing good deeds and staying away from bad ones. We can also learn from this hadith that if we have made a vow to do something wrong in the past, then we can seek forgiveness by performing an expiation which is similar to what one would do when they break an oath. This could include feeding ten poor people or fasting for two days consecutively.

By following these teachings of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, we can stay away from committing sins and strive towards righteousness instead.
