It was narrated that Qais bin Abi Gharazah said: "At the time of the Messenger of Allah we used to be called Samasir (brokers). The Messenger of Allah came to us when we were selling and called us by a name that was better than that. He said: 'O merchants (Tujjar), this selling involves lies and (false) oaths, so mix some charity with it'."
The Prophet Muhammad's advice is especially relevant today when many businesses are driven by greed and selfishness rather than fairness and justice. We should remember his words whenever we engage in any kind of transaction or deal so that we can ensure that our actions are guided by honesty and justice rather than dishonesty or unfairness.
