This hadith speaks about the permissibility of performing an Umra pilgrimage. An Umra is a pilgrimage to Mecca that can be done at any time during the year and does not have to coincide with Hajj. The hadith was narrated by Shu'bah who heard it from Qatadah who heard it from 'Ata who heard it from Jabir that the Prophet said that performing an Umra is permissible.
