Making Umra and Ruqba Obligatory

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad made Umra and Ruqba obligatory.

It was narrated from Tawus that the Messenger of Allah made 'Umra and Ruqba binding.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَكْحُولٌ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، بَتَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ الْعُمْرَى وَالرُّقْبَى

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith states that the Prophet Muhammad made two religious obligations, known as 'Umra and Ruqba, binding. 'Umra is a pilgrimage to Mecca that can be done at any time of the year, while Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that must be done during the month of Dhu al-Hijjah. Ruqba is a sacrifice offered in honor of Allah during Hajj or 'Umrah. This hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligations such as performing 'Umrah and offering sacrifices in honor of Allah. It also reminds us of our duty to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and abide by his commands.
