Keeping Promises

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) vowed to stay away from his wives for a month, but after 29 days he went back to them.

Narrated Um Salama: The Prophet vowed to keep aloof from his wives for a period of one month, and after the completion of 29 days he went either in the morning or in the afternoon to his wives. Someone said to him "You vowed that you would not go to your wives for one month". He replied, "The month is of 29 days".

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your promises , Fulfill your commitments , Be honest , Have integrity .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made a promise to stay away from his wives for one month. After the completion of 29 days, he returned to them. This hadith teaches us that it is important to keep our promises and fulfill our commitments. We should not make promises we cannot keep or break our word once we have given it. It also shows us that even though the Prophet ﷺ was a great man, he was still human and could make mistakes like anyone else. He realized his mistake and corrected it by returning to his wives after 29 days instead of waiting until the full month was over.

This hadith also reminds us that Allah is always watching over us and knows when we are making mistakes or trying our best to do what is right in His eyes. We should strive every day to be better people and follow His commands so that He will be pleased with us in this life and the next.
