Awards for Camel and Horse Competitions

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that awards should only be given for competitions involving camels or horses.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "There should be no awards (for victory in a competition) except over camels or horses".
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ، - مَوْلًى لِبَنِي لَيْثٍ - عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ سَبَقَ إِلاَّ فِي خُفٍّ أَوْ حَافِرٍ
