Sunan an-Nasai 3531 (Book 27, Hadith 143) #18143
Observing 'Iddah Without Leaving Family

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that a woman's 'Iddah (waiting period) can be observed wherever she wants, without being forced to leave her family.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that this Verse abrogated the woman's 'Iddah among her family, and she may observe her 'Iddah wherever she wants. That is the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: without turning them out.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Islamic practice of observing an 'Iddah, which is a waiting period for women after divorce or death of their husband. During this time, they are not allowed to remarry and must observe certain rules. According to this hadith, women do not have to leave their families in order to observe their 'Iddah; they can stay with them and still fulfill the requirements of the waiting period. This shows that Islam values family ties and encourages people to remain close with their relatives even during difficult times. It also teaches us that we should respect each other’s religious practices and beliefs without forcing our own views on others.
