Remarriage After Bereavement

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad advised a woman to remarry soon after her husband's death.

It was narrated that Umm Salamah said: "Subai'ah gave birth a few days after her husband died, and the Messenger of Allah told her to get married".
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ وَاصِلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ وَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِأَيَّامٍ فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَنْ تَزَوَّجَ
