Sunan an-Nasai 3489 (Book 27, Hadith 101) #18101
Dispute Over Child During Menstrual Cycle

SUMMARY: A man from Yemen came to the Prophet Muhammad and told him about a dispute between three men who had intercourse with a woman during one menstrual cycle.

It was narrated that Zaid bin Arqam said: "While we were with the Messenger of Allah, a man came to him from Yemen and started telling him (about an incident) while 'Ali was still in Yemen. He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, three men were brought to 'Ali who were disputing about a child, and they all had intercourse with a woman during a single menstrual cycle'." And he quoted the same Hadith.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek justice and fairness when dealing with disputes; Adhere to Islamic teachings regarding sexual activity; Be careful when engaging in sexual activities .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man from Yemen who came to the Prophet Muhammad and told him about a dispute between three men over an infant. The men were all involved in sexual relations with the same woman during her menstrual cycle, which is not allowed in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad then gave his judgement on the matter, which was that none of them could claim paternity of the child as it was impossible to determine who was actually responsible for its conception. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful when engaging in sexual activities and always adhere to Islamic teachings regarding such matters. It also reminds us that we should always seek justice and fairness when dealing with disputes, no matter how complicated they may seem at first glance.
