QUICK LESSONS:
Exercise caution when considering divorce; Respect mothers; Give custody rights to children's mothers if needed .

EXPLANATIONS:
In Islam, there is a procedure known as Li’an which is used when a husband accuses his wife of adultery but has no proof. This was practiced during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who would conduct this process between couples. During this process, he would separate them and attribute the child to its mother. This shows that even though divorce is allowed in Islam, it should be done with caution and only when necessary as it can have an effect on children's lives. It also shows that mothers are given priority over fathers in terms of custody rights for their children.
