Seeking Permission Before Marriage

SUMMARY: Seeking permission from women before marriage is important, even if the woman is too shy to speak.

It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet said: "Seek the permission of women with regard to marriage". It was said: "What if a virgin is too shy and remains silent?" He said: "That is her permission".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏"‏ اسْتَأْمِرُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي أَبْضَاعِهِنَّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قِيلَ فَإِنَّ الْبِكْرَ تَسْتَحِي وَتَسْكُتُ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ هُوَ إِذْنُهَا
