Umar's Permission for the Wives of the Prophet to Perform Hajj

SUMMARY: Umar (ra) allowed the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) to perform Hajj and sent two companions with them as escorts.

Narrated Ibrahim's grand-father that 'Umar(ra) in his last Hajj allowed the wives of the Prophetto perform Hajj and he sent with them 'Uthman bin 'Affan(ra) and 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf(ra) as escorts.
وَقَالَ لِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَذِنَ عُمَرُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ لأَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ فِي آخِرِ حَجَّةٍ حَجَّهَا، فَبَعَثَ مَعَهُنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ‏.‏
