The Reward of Guarding Ribat

SUMMARY: Whoever guards the frontier in the cause of Allah for one day and one night will be rewarded like fasting and praying Qiyam for a month, even if they die.

It was narrated that Salman said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever guards Ribat (the frontier) in the cause of Allah for one day and one night, he will have (a reward) like that of fasting and praying Qiyam for a month. If he dies he will continue to receive reward for what he did, and he will be kept safe from Al-Fattan, and he will be given provision'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward that comes from guarding the frontier in the cause of Allah. It was narrated by Salman that he heard Prophet Muhammad say that whoever guards Ribat, or a frontier, in the cause of Allah for one day and one night will receive a reward like fasting and praying Qiyam for an entire month. Even if they die while doing this act, they will continue to receive rewards from it. Additionally, those who guard Ribat are kept safe from Al-Fattan and given provision. This hadith teaches us to be brave when defending our faith as we can gain great rewards from it even after death. It also encourages us to help others who are fighting on behalf of Islam as we can benefit greatly from it too.
