QUICK LESSONS:
Respect your parents, prioritize family responsibilities over other obligations in life.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of striving for one's parents. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Amr that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and asked permission to go on Jihaad, or holy war. The Prophet asked him if his parents were alive, and when he said yes, the Prophet advised him to stay with them and strive for their sake instead of going on Jihaad. This hadith teaches us that taking care of our parents is more important than any other duty we may have in life, even if it is something as important as Jihaad. We should always prioritize our responsibilities towards our family over any other obligations we may have in life.
