Concise Speech and Treasures of the Earth

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad was sent with concise speech and was supported with fear. He had a dream in which he was given the keys to the treasures of the Earth.

Narrated It was narrated from Sa’eed bin Al-Musayyab and Salamah bin Abdur-Rahman that Abu Hurairah said: : "I heard the Messenger of Allah said: 'I have been sent with concise speech, and I have been supported with fear. While I was sleeping, the keys to the treasures of the Earth were brought to me and placed in my hands.’ Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah has gone and you are acquiring them".
أَخْبَرَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَأَبِي، سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ بُعِثْتُ بِجَوَامِعِ الْكَلِمِ وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ وَبَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِمَفَاتِيحِ خَزَائِنِ الأَرْضِ فَوُضِعَتْ فِي يَدِي ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْتَثِلُونَهَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was sent with concise speech and supported by fear. He also had a dream in which he received keys to all of the treasures on earth. This teaches us that we should strive to use concise language when speaking, as it is more effective than using many words unnecessarily. We should also have faith in Allah's support for us, even if we are afraid or uncertain about something. Finally, this hadith reminds us that Allah has blessed us with many resources on earth; however, it is up to us to use them wisely and responsibly for our benefit as well as others'.
