EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of stoning a Jimar. A Jimar is an idol or an object that was worshipped by people in pre-Islamic Arabia. According to this hadith, Ibn 'Abbas was asked about the stoning of the Jimar and he replied that he did not know but that the Messenger of Allah had done it with six or seven stones. This shows us how important it is to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and to stay away from any form of idol worship as it goes against Islamic teachings. It also teaches us to be humble and accept when we do not know something, instead of pretending we do.
