Keeping Salamanders as Pets Discouraged

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) discouraged people from keeping salamanders as pets.

Narrated 'Aisha the wife of the Prophet: Allah's Messenger called the salamander a bad animal, but I did not hear him ordering it to be killed".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِلْوَزَغِ ‏ "‏ فُوَيْسِقٌ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِهِ‏.‏
