Praying Two Rakahs at the Kaaba

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed two Rakahs between the two columns of the Kaaba.

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah entered the Kabah, and was about to come out, when I thought of something, so I came quickly and I found the Messenger of Allah coming out. I asked Bilal: Did the Messenger of Allah prayed inside the Kabah?' He said: 'Yes, two Rakahs between the two columns'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray with respect and reverence for Allah's house. Think before you act so your intentions are pure and correct.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident in which Prophet Muhammad entered the Kabah and was about to come out when Ibn Umar asked Bilal if he had prayed inside. Bilal confirmed that he had prayed two rakahs between the two columns of the Kabah. This shows us that it is permissible to pray inside of a mosque or other holy places as long as it is done with respect and reverence for Allah's house. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and think before we act so that we can make sure our intentions are pure and correct.
