QUICK LESSONS:
Respect all living creatures; Do not cause unnecessary harm to animals; Follow Islamic teachings regarding sanctity of holy places

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith states that there are five kinds of animals that may be killed in the Haram. The term ‘Haram’ refers to a sacred place or area which is forbidden for any kind of disturbance or destruction. In this case it refers to a place where certain animals can be killed without any guilt or sin. These five kinds of vermin are scorpions, mice, crows, vicious dogs and kites. This hadith teaches us that we should not disturb the peace and sanctity of a holy place by killing any animal unless it is one of these five types mentioned here. We should also respect all living creatures and not cause them harm unnecessarily as Allah has created them with purpose and wisdom.
