Protection from Evil

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) heard a snake and instructed his companions to kill it. They tried to do so but were unsuccessful, and the Prophet praised Allah for protecting them from the snake's evil.

It was narrated from Abu Ubaidah that his father said: "We were with the Messenger of Allah on the night of Arafat which is before Arafat, when he heard a snake. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Kill it'. It went into a crack in a rock, and we put a stick in and broke part of the hole, then we took some palm tree leave and set them ablaze in the hole. The Messenger of Allah: 'Allah protected it from your evil and protected you from its evil'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the protection of Allah from evil. It was narrated by Abu Ubaidah that his father said they were with the Messenger of Allah on the night of Arafat when he heard a snake. The Prophet instructed them to kill it, but they were unable to do so as it went into a crack in a rock. Despite their efforts, they could not get rid of it and instead set some palm tree leaves ablaze in its hole. The Prophet then praised Allah for protecting them from its evil and also protecting it from their own evil intentions. This hadith teaches us that we should always be grateful for God's protection against any kind of harm or danger that may come our way, even if we are unable to protect ourselves or others around us. We should also remember that no matter how hard we try, only God can truly protect us from all kinds of harm or danger in this world.
