Washing a Deceased Person in Ihram

SUMMARY: A man died while in Ihram and the Prophet Muhammad instructed to wash him with water and lotus leaves, wrap him in two garments, but not cover his head.

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: "A man in Ihram came with the Messenger of Allah and fell from atop his camel, breaking his neck, and he died. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Wash him with water and lotus leaves, and wrap him in his two garments. But do not cover his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah'."

This is because on the Day of Resurrection this person will be raised reciting Talbiyah. It teaches us that we should respect those who have passed away and follow Islamic rituals when washing them for burial. We should also remember that everyone will be held accountable for their actions on Judgment Day so it is important to live our lives according to Islamic teachings.
