Death During Hajj

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed to wash and shroud a man who died during Hajj in two garments, and not to cover his face, as he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting Talbiyah.

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that: a man was performing Hajj with the Messenger of Allah and his she-camel threw him and he died. The Messenger of Allah said: "Wash him and shroud him in two garments, and do not cover his head of his face, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting Talbiyah".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man who was performing the pilgrimage of Hajj with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Unfortunately, his she-camel threw him off and he died. The Prophet instructed that he should be washed and shrouded in two garments. He also said that they should not cover his head or face because he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting Talbiyah. This hadith teaches us that death is inevitable for all humans no matter where we are or what we are doing. It also reminds us to always remember Allah even when we are performing our religious duties such as Hajj or Umrah so that when our time comes we can recite Talbiyah with sincerity and faithfulness. Furthermore, it teaches us to respect those who have passed away by washing them properly and shrouding them in two garments without covering their faces so they can look dignified when they rise again on the Day of Judgment.
