Sunan an-Nasai 2854 (Book 24, Hadith 237) #17466
Washing and Shrouding of a Man Who Died in Ihram

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed to wash a man who died in Ihram with water and lotus leaves, shroud him in two cloths, and not put any perfume on him as he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah.

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas: That a man in Ihram was thrown by his she-camel and his neck was broken. It was said that he had died, so the Prophet said: "Wash him with water and lotus leaves, and shroud him in two cloths". Then he said: "Do not put any perfume on him for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah". Shubah said: "Ten years later, I asked him (the narrator Abu Bishr) anbut that, and he narrated the Hadith as he had the first time, except that he said: 'And do not cover his face and head'.".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic rituals for washing & shrouding those who die while wearing Ihram .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the instructions given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ regarding how to treat someone who has died while wearing Ihram. He instructed that they should be washed with water and lotus leaves, shrouded in two cloths, but not have any perfume applied to them. This is because when they are resurrected on the Day of Judgement, they will still be reciting their Talbiyah which was said during Hajj or Umrah. The Prophet ﷺ also instructed that their face and head should not be covered when being shrouded as this would prevent them from being able to recite their Talbiyah properly. This hadith teaches us about respecting those who have passed away by following certain rituals for washing and shrouding them according to Islamic teachings. It also reminds us that we must always remember Allah even after death so that we can continue our journey towards Him even after our physical bodies have perished.
