EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik tells us that the Prophet Muhammad was treated with cupping while in Ihram for a contusion on his foot. Cupping is an ancient form of treatment which involves placing heated cups on the skin to create suction and draw out toxins from the body. It is believed to be beneficial for many ailments such as headaches and muscle pain. This hadith shows us that even though he was in a state of holiness and purity during his pilgrimage to Mecca, he still sought medical treatment when needed. This teaches us that we should not neglect our health or ignore any physical ailments we may have but instead seek proper medical advice and treatment when necessary.
