Dogs in Mosques During Prophet Muhammad's Lifetime

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the behaviour of dogs in the mosques during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

And narrated Hamza bin 'Abdullah: My father said".During the lifetime of Allah's Apostle, the dogs used to urinate, and pass through the mosques (come and go), nevertheless they never used to sprinkle water on it (urine of the dog)"

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect holy places by keeping them clean and being mindful towards our actions while inside them .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how dogs behaved in mosques during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It was narrated by Hamza bin 'Abdullah who said that his father told him that during this time period, dogs would enter and leave mosques but they never used to sprinkle water on their urine. This shows us that even though it was allowed for animals to enter and leave these places of worship at this time period, it was still important to maintain cleanliness and respect for these holy places. We can learn from this hadith that we should always be mindful of our actions when we are in a place of worship and strive to keep it clean.
