Completing the Sacrifice Before Exiting Ihram

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad did not exit his Ihram for Umrah until he had offered the sacrifice.

It was narrated from Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet, that she said: "O Messenger of Allah, why is it that the people have exited Ihram for Umrah but you have not exited your Ihram for Umrah? He said: "I have matted my hair and garlanded my Hadi, so I will not exit Ihram until I have offered the sacrifice".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of completing a sacrifice before exiting one's state of Ihram. The Prophet Muhammad was asked why he had not exited his state of Ihram for Umrah yet, and he replied that he had matted his hair and garlanded his Hadi, so he would not exit until after offering a sacrifice. This teaches us that it is important to complete our obligations before moving on to something else. It also shows us how devoted and dedicated the Prophet was to fulfilling all religious duties in order to set an example for others.
