EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of entering into a state of Ihram when performing a pilgrimage to Mecca, known as Hajj. It was narrated by Ja’far bin Muhammad that his father told him that they asked Jabir bin’ Abdullah about the Prophet’s journey to Mecca and he said that Ali came from Yemen with a Hadi, which is an animal sacrificed in honor of Allah during pilgrimage. The Prophet then brought his own Hadi from Medina and asked Ali why he had entered into a state of Ihram. He replied that he was doing so for the same reason as what the Messenger of Allah did, and also because he had brought along his own Hadi. The Prophet then told him not to exit this state until after completing his pilgrimage. This hadith teaches us about following in our beloved prophet's footsteps when it comes to religious practices such as performing Hajj, and also emphasizes on being mindful when entering into states such as Ihram before embarking on any religious journey or practice.
