In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad was asked about what clothing is appropriate for someone in a state of Ihram. He advised against wearing shirts, Imamahs, pants, burnouses or Khuffs except if someone does not have sandals in which case they can wear Khuffs but must cut them so that they come below the ankles. Additionally he warned against wearing any garment that has been touched by saffron or wars. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our clothing choices and to dress modestly when performing religious duties such as Hajj and Umrah. It also reminds us to be aware of our surroundings and take care not to use materials which are prohibited in Islam such as saffron or wars.
