Entering into Ihram for Hajj

SUMMARY: This hadith explains the places from which people of different regions should enter into Ihram for Hajj.

It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet said: "The people of Al-Madinah should enter into Ihram from Dhul-Hulaifah, the people of Ash-sham from Al-Juhfah, the people of Najd from Qarn". And it was mentioned to me, although I did not hear him say it: "And the people of Yemen should enter into Ihram from Yalamlam.;

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the places from which people of different regions should enter into Ihram for Hajj. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that the people of Al-Madinah should enter into Ihram from Dhul-Hulaifah, the people of Ash-sham from Al-Juhfah, the people of Najd from Qarn and the people of Yemen should enter into Ihram from Yalamlam. It is important to note that entering in to a state of ihraam is an essential part in performing hajj or umrah as it marks a person’s intention to perform either one or both rituals. Therefore, it is important to know where one must start their journey when they are about to perform hajj or umrah so that they can begin their journey with a pure intention and be successful in completing their pilgrimage with Allah’s blessings.
