The Reward of Performing Hajj with Children

SUMMARY: A woman asked the Prophet Muhammad if her child was eligible for Hajj and he said yes, and that she would be rewarded.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "A woman lifted a child up to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'Is there Hajj for this one?' He said: 'Yes, and you will be rewarded'.''(sahih)
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ رَفَعَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَبِيًّا فَقَالَتْ أَلِهَذَا حَجٌّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ نَعَمْ وَلَكِ أَجْرٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward of performing Hajj with children. The Prophet Muhammad was asked by a woman if her child was eligible for Hajj, to which he replied yes, and that she would be rewarded for it. This hadith teaches us that we should take our children on pilgrimage as it is a great act of worship in Islam and will bring us rewards from Allah. It also shows us the importance of taking our children along with us when we perform acts of worship so they can learn from them too. We should also remember that Allah rewards those who do good deeds even if they are small or seemingly insignificant like taking your child on pilgrimage.
