Sunan an-Nasai 2618 (Book 23, Hadith 184) #17229
Paying Zakah on Grapes

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad instructed 'Attab bin Usaid to pay Zakah on grapes in the form of raisins, similar to how Zakah is paid on date palms in dried dates.

It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab: That the Messenger of Allah told 'Attab bin Usaid to estimate the (harvest of) grapes, and to pay Zakah in raisins, just as the Zakah on date palms is given in died dates.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about paying zakat, which is a type of charity that Muslims are obligated to give each year. In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad instructed 'Attab bin Usaid to pay zakat on grapes in the form of raisins, similar to how zakat is paid on date palms in dried dates. This teaches us that we should be generous and charitable with our wealth and resources, even if it means giving something different than what we have been given. It also shows us that we should be mindful of our obligations as Muslims and strive to fulfill them as best as possible.
