The Virtue of Hard Work

SUMMARY: It is better to work hard and earn money than to ask for help from someone who may or may not give it.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if one of you were to take a rope and gather firewood on his back that would be better for him than coming to a man to whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has given of His bounty and asking him (for help). Which he may or may not give.

QUICK LESSONS:
Put effort into working hard and earning your own money instead of relying on others .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of hard work and earning one's own money. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that it is better to take a rope and gather firewood on one's back than to come to someone who has been given wealth by Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and ask them for help. This person may or may not give you what you are asking for, so it is better to put in effort yourself rather than relying on others. This hadith teaches us that we should strive for self-sufficiency instead of relying on others, as this will bring us closer to Allah SWT. We should also remember that whatever wealth we have been given by Allah SWT is a blessing from Him which we must use wisely in order to gain His pleasure.
