Striving for the Poor and Widows is Equal to Jihad

SUMMARY: Striving to help the poor and widows is equal to striving in Jihad for Allah.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: "The one who strives to sponsor a widow or a poor person is like the one who strives in Jihad in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Helping those who are less fortunate than us by providing them with food, clothing and other necessities of life; making sure they have access to education and healthcare so they can lead better lives; being generous towards others; showing compassion towards others; being kind towards others.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that helping those who are less fortunate than us is an act of worship that is equal to striving in jihad. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever strives to sponsor a widow or a poor person will be rewarded as if they have strived in jihad for Allah. This means that we should strive our best to help those who are less fortunate than us by providing them with food, clothing and other necessities of life. We should also strive our best to make sure they have access to education and healthcare so they can lead better lives. By doing this we will be rewarded by Allah as if we had strived in jihad for Him.
