QUICK LESSONS:
Perform acts of worship whenever possible

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the Prophet Muhammad's practice of performing an Umrah in the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah before his pilgrimage to Mecca for Hajj. An Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca that can be done at any time during the year and is not mandatory like a Hajj. It was narrated by Abu Ishaq, Masruq, Ata and Mujahid that Allah's Messenger performed an Umrah in Dhu al Qi’dah before he performed his obligatory hajj. Al Baraa bin Azib also reported that Allah’s Messenger performed an umrah twice in this same month prior to his hajj. This hadith teaches us about the importance of fulfilling our religious obligations and encourages us to perform acts of worship whenever we can as it will bring us closer to God and increase our rewards on Judgment Day.
